Standar Calendar Hours Setting

T

Trisha

On project server 2007 I changed the enterprise global template in Tools -
Options - Calendar to the following:

Hours per day: 7.00
Hourse per week: 35.00

However, when project managers save & publish their project to the server it
is not applying these settings to their project. Do you know why this would
be?

2nd question I have is if there is an existing project published to the
server once it is opened and republished should it not receive these new
calendar settings? If not, is there a way to force this change because
existing projects are not receiving these calendar settings either.

Thank You!

Trisha --

You are misunderstanding the purpose of the Enterprise Global file, which is
to serve as your organization's "library" of custom enterprise objects such
as Views, Tables, Filters, Groups, Reports, etc. It IS NOT the location
from which you can standardize Options settings (Tools - Options) for each
user. In fact, there is NO location from which you can standardize these
Options. Instead, you must require each user of Microsoft Project 2007 to
set their own Options settings in the Microsoft Project 2007 application.
The other option is to set these using a Registry "push." Hope this helps.

Hi Trish,

in addition to Dales exellent post, you can use security templates ( which
you can find on the microsoft page) and use them to push the setting out via
your roming profile. This will ensure that no user can change the settings
under the Project options
Hope this helps
