Standard mailing label

i have done standard avery mailing labels (1 x 2 5/8) from a mail merge
dozens of times without any problem. now , for some reason, instead of
filling one page before moving onto the next, Word is putting only one
mailing label on a page in the top left corner. it puts record #2 on
the top left corner of page 2, record #3 on the top left corner of page
3, etc. how do i get it to fill each page before moving onto the next
page?

Does your mail merge main document (with the label layout) have field codes
(e.g. looking like { MERGEFIELD FirstName } etc. or <<FirstName>> in each
label, or just the first? Does each label except the first have a <<Next
Record>> (or { NEXT } ) field at the beginning?

On Mac Word (version 2004, at any rate) when you use the Data Merge Manager
to set up a label merge, Word should "propagate" the fields and text
automatically to all the labels the first time you set them up, but if you
"clear" the layout and just enter fields for the first label you have to
propagate them yourself.
