Standard Resource Listing - not Resource Pool

A

Andrew

Is there a way that I can save a standard set of resources in my global file
so that if I open up anew project I can access the resource list. I do not
want to set up a resource pool as I want to start each job with the same set
of resources, I will be altering them slightly to suit each contract ie I
will be adding in company names after the resource name Carpenter - joe bloggs

Hi Andrew,

No, sorry. Only with Project server can you store resources outside
an mpp file. You could certainly create a list in a project file
(without assignments) and then copy/paste the list to a new project
file. You could also use the option to create a project file based
on another project to avoid the copy/paste step.

If it truly is a different set of resources but with similar names,
rates, that's what I'd do.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

You can save a file as a template file with the resources in (Tools/Save
As and then choose the option to save as a .mpt file).

I thought that might be the case - I have a standard programme file with the
resources in it and I just copy all the resources and paste into new projects
- Guess I was being a bit lazy !!!!. Thankyou for your help

You're welcome Andrew. Glad to have helped and thanks for the
feedback. Sorry the answer wasn't exactly what you hoped to hear
:) Oh, and it's not lazy -- just the desire for more efficiency
:)
