Hi all,
Mike Glen suggested I post in here instead of the general thread.
I want to get a handle on who has which version installed on my network. I
found the kb articles indicating the product numbers, but there doesn't seem
to be a way to distinguish standard versus professional.
Is there a way to tell which version someone has (standard or
professional) AND which product 2003/2007/sp1/sp2/sp3?
I was hoping there was a way I could do it by scanning everyone's machines
using sms 2003 or another tool. I'm thinking there might be thousands of
copies installed, but not that many in use. And, if they are in use, I want
to make sure the correct copy is installed. I've heard of people using
professional, but they have no server to connect it with; so, i'm thinking
all they need is standard.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Theo
