I have been using the "lightening bolt" in my diagrams to show communications
links. I have been using it for both plain analog connections (POTS lines,
between premise and Central Office) as well as digital connections
(connections from POPs to "clouds"). I have been told that this is not the
correct use for the lightening bolt. Is there a standards document of what
is to be used where how and when?

reference where they found this out?
