Standby and shutdown problems Windows 98

I got a worm virus, W32.Sobig.E@mm, unfortunately it got
around my system before Norton picked it up. I downloaded
a clearance prog. from Symantec, ehich cleared the vorus
and its effects, but now I cannot go on standby or shut
down with switching off at power switch - the system locks
up. I get a long list of progs. which are not responding.
Also on Start-up, I get VSdata95.vxd not found by
system.ini. I also seem to be missing Msgsrv32. Any
suggestions very welcome!
