I need to enter a start and stop tiime for an excel test. However, if I use a macro to paste '=NOW()' in one cell at the Start of the test and then use another macro to paste "=NOW()" in another cell at the end of the test, both cells end up with the same time.?

I'm trying to automate timing the testing procedure.

Any suggestions?

This is correct behavior. =now() is a volatile function and recalculates
every time the sheet calculates. Therefore you have to place the value of
the current NOW into the cell, NOT the formula.
