Start page numbering with 1 on a page in a document

I'm using Word 2002 and want to start page numbering on the 5th page of my
document. I want to display the fifth page as page 1, and have no page
numbers display on the four pages at the beginning of the document.

From what I understand, I need to make a section break (section break, next
page) on the fourth page of my document, then go to the fifth page, and
insert a header. Then, click on the "Link to previous" button on the
header/footer toolbar to remove the link, then click the Page Number Format
button and choose "start at 1." Then click on the page number button to
insert the page number. Is this the correct or easiest way to do this? Thank
you.

This is the correct way; just change the order a bit. Turn off "Link to
previous" before putting anything in the header.
