Hi All,

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can set a task to schedule
itself to start from the next working day?

ie. if task a duration=2.5 day, and starts on monday, I want task b
to start fresh on Thursday morning.

Suggestions gratefully recieved!

Thanks
Steve

You have to fake the system. Create a new calendar such as "First Thing".
You will need to establish that calendar to have exactly one minute of work
available each day M-F, or maybe Sunday-Thursday depending on what will work
for you. You could make that minute 4:59PM or 7:59AM depending on your needs.

Now create an interim milestone so you have this:
Task A myFirst Task 2.5 days (Monday, Tuesday and 50% of Wednesday)
Task B Milestone, 0 Days
Task C The task that use to follow Task A

Link all three tasks together FS so they cascade. Assign the new Calendar
to Task B only. Use the normal calendar for Tasks A & C. Since Task B can
only happen at 4:59PM or 7:59AM you force task C to follow it and that would
start the next available minute (which is the next work day)

There are variations on this -- for example you could have the new calendar
have work hours of 1 minute only on Sunday. Then, no matter what, Task C
would always start first thing Monday morning even if Task A finished on
Wednesday.
