Start task Pane

The startup task pane on Excell and Word blink on then go
away when I start up. I read and article once that
indicated the problem was one produced by Adobe Acrobat.
The solution was to delete or edit some file that Adobe
created.

I cannot find that article to repair the problem now that
I've reinstalled Adobe. Can anyone tell me how to repair
this?
