Hi, I am not sure this is the right forum to post this question. In fact, i
tried the Microsoft Windows Vista community group, but their site seems
faulty, ie I cannot sign in and therefore cannot post a question.

Every time i start up my computer, Windows Live Messenger log on box pops
up. I don't want it. I will select it if and when I need it, but don't want
to have to close it every time I lot on.

Forgive me for putting this in the wrong place (if I have). :)
Thanks.

This is the wrong group but disabling the behavior is easy. Log on, then
select the Options tab, and under the General settings, uncheck the option
to start when Windows starts.
