Starting Outlook 2007

I just purchased Outlook 2007 and successfully uploaded it to my computer.
However, when I click on the program an error message appears:

Configuring Outlook
Migrating Account Settings
The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online
or connected to complete this action.

The computer is connected to the Internet by DSL. To me this is
incomprehensible techie jargon. I'd appreciate any ideas to get Outlook
functional in my computer.

You need to remove the reference to the Exchange Server in the Mail applet
of the Control Panel. From there you can also add an Internet mail account.

Go to Control Panel, Mail and delete the account - add a new one of the
proper type.
