Starting Outlook question

Hi, I got a new computer about 2 weeks ago and loaded up office 2003 on it
and configured outlook on it. Since doing this, the startup behaviour of
outlook has changed. It used to be that each time I pressed on the outlook
icon to start outlook, it would start up a new window of it. Now when I
press on the outlook icon, it just changes focus to the outlook window that
is already open. I have to assume that this might be because I am now using
XP desktop rather than classic desktop that I had on my old computer, but it
is driving me nuts as I used to have a outlook instance/window with my
contacts and one with my calendar and one with my email all open at the same
time... is there some way I can change this back to act this way again
without going back to windows classic desktop/startup menu?

Thanks

You can have separate instances of calendar, inbox, tasks etc running at the
same time by right clicking on an item in your folder list and then clicking
on 'Open in new folder'.

For multiple Outlook windows I have read a separate thread which said the
following works:

Open Outlook
Open the items you want calendar, tasks etc by right clicking and open in
new window
Drag your windows to where you want
Close the main window by File > Exit
All Outlook windows should close
When you open Outlook next time the multiple windows should open as well

Yes, I had read that before and it does work... and I guess it suffices,
however I am still damn curious about why it worked one way before and
changed.

Thanks
Bill
