Startup Command Options in Append Query

I am attempting to create an append query that takes data from a table in the
current Access db and append it to a corresponding table in another Access
db. I run the append query wizard and follow the prompt to enter in the
password to the "other" db which the wizard accepts. However, when I run the
append query, I get the error "Invalid Password" even though it is the
correct password and was accepted by the wizard. What am I doing wrong?

I'd "pull" rather than "push". Try opening the database that you want to
update; use File... Get External Data... Link to link to the source database;
and run an append query from there.

Thanks for your response John, but I am unclear in what you mean. When I
click on the Get External Data menu, I get two options; Import and Link
Tables. I see no way to run the Append query from here. Also, I don't want
all the data in the table, just for a given range of dates and other select
criteria that I have set in the query. Are you familiar with the password
error I penned? Is there another way?

Link to the table (in the target database); you'll get asked for a password if
it's password protected. The remote table will then be in your Tables window,
with an arrow by its name to indicate that it's linked not local.

THEN - now that you have the link - create an Append query, just as if it were
a local table.

You can delete the table once you've imported - you'll just be deleting the
link, not the table.
