startup doc closed

When I start Word, the default doc does not open
automatically. How do I make it so that it opens when I
start Word??? I can manually open a file with File Open
New, etc.. But just really curious to make it work
automatically. Thanks.

Do you click an icon to start Word? If you do, right-click
it, go to Properties and copy/paste into your reply the
contents of the "Target" box.

Otherwise, please describe to us how you start Word (and
tell us which version of Word and of Windows you have)
