Startup form won't stick

I have a Access97 database that seems to be corrupt. The
database has many user interface forms to control the flow
of data into and out of the tables. The form frmMain
was set to be the startup form and the hide database
window option was enable in the Tools....Startup menu.

The primary user of the database questioned me about the
database form missing last week. I looked at the
database to see if someone changed the Startup options,
sure enough the startup form was removed and the hide
database option was not enable. I set the form and hide
database option and selected ok. Then I checked the
settings again, they had changed back to the default
settings.

I cannot get the startup form to "Stick". I had
received an error indicating the SysModule file could not
be change or I did not have permissions to the table. I
cannot remember the exact error message.

Also something that may be completely unrelated but when
looking for the problem last Friday when I select the ok
button on the startup options menu my computer did a black
screen reboot. I have checked for the blaster virus and
found nothing. Just wondering if this is all related?

If anyone has experience in fixing the startup form "not
sticking" problem and found a remedy I would appreciate
your input.

Regards,
Tony Nichols

is to start and hide the database window at startup.

The database is three plus years old and has had interface
updates made in the last couple of years.
