Startup issues with Outlook 2002

About every other time I startup Outlook, it brings up a window and then
disappears for three or four minutes and finally completes the startup
process. Any ideas as to what is happening? I can see outlook.exe in the task
manager list but there is 0 CPU utillization during the disappearance.
