Hi. Quick question about MS Word 2002. It's running on XP
A few months ago, I noticed that the right-hand Start-Up Task Pane doesn't load up when Word is launched. As Word is opening, I can see a faint "grey box" forming, but nothing ever appears. I've checked, "Tools", "Options", and "Startup Task Pane" is already checked. Other applications like Excel load up with the accompanying Startup Task Pane, but something appears to be amiss with Word. I've tried different combinations of clicking and unclicking this option, but nothing seems to work
I can manually launch the pane from "View", "Task Pane" (and it is NOT checked under the "View" menu although it is checked when I look in "Tools", "Options"), and when I see the pane, the "Show at startup" IS checked. I am stumped
I have noticed a few times that with Word having been already loaded, if I close Word and come back to it later, sometimes the Startup Task Pane DOES appear
I tried searching this newsgroup, but only found threads asking how to deactivate the feature. Unlike some, I actually like the Startup Task Pane. Any advice how to fix this problem would really be appreciated. Thanks.
