I read the issues in this forum about the startup location being empty and
visio then opens every executable file on your hard drive. But how the hell
do you fix it.
Have tried to correct it starting visio in safe mode but can not.

Somebody help i cann't use visio until i get it fixed.

Not empty, but just c: or c:\Program Files\
Open the registry editor
go to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11\Visio\Application\StatUpPath

the 11 is for Visio 2003
use 12 for Visio 2007

Change this registry key to remove any bad value.

Thanks for that, i should of posted the question earlier instead of searching
everyone elses questions. I tried to set "C:" as the startup but that caused
same problem, so i left it empty and that worked fine through the registry.
As the only way to stop the program when it had the error was to end it i
suspect the registry was not being updated properly or something.

Many thanks!!
