stationary incompatibility!!!

Concerning Outlook 2003; When we were designing a new stationary for a
client, we came upon the problem that certain HTML-tags didn't work anymore.
They did work in outlook 2000. Now we came upon the problem that every time
embedded images or images which were linked from a website, came as
attachments with the email to other emailclients than Outlook 2003 (eudora
etc.)
Even the standard Outlook-stationary came as attachments..
What has happend to: - the HTML-codes of Outlook 2003? - to the fact that
outlook 2003 sends images as attachments to other emailprograms?

Does anyone has a solution to this programn or a tip how to avoid this???

it would help if you mention which tags you are having issues with. the
reason that i say this is that you might not be aware that ol2003 reading
pane is much more secure than ol2000. for example, it doesn't allow script
to run or images to be pulled down from the web automatically. both of
these methods have been used to force open attachments or web beacons to
verify a live address.

ps - you also might want to mention if you are using word 2003 as the email
editor.

The tags I use are standard tags like A HREF. The images are indeed on the
clients site but are still being send as attachment. I used the CSS-style
no-repeat but that doesn't work in Outlook 2003. The full code I get from the
mail is:

Do you know what mail server is involved in the equation?

Also, open Outlook 2003 and check the setting at Tools > Options > Mail
Format > Internet Options > Internet Format. There is a checkbox at the
top. I think if that is checked that Outlook will pull the background image
and include it as an attachment rather than a reference.
