Stationary

Is it possible to link stationary, ie. faxes, letterheads, with compliment slips in word so that when you change the address details on one of the documents all the other documents change automatically?

Yes it is possible, but it takes a bit of work involving VBA coding (eg, by
setting CustomDocumentProperties from a single datasource, each time you
create a new document). Unless this is something you change a lot, the
effort is unlikely to be worth it. How long does it take to open each
stationery template and update? As opposed to creating and testing your
code, copying it to each template, maintaining the datasource, supporting
your users when they tell you that their copy of Word doesn't work any more
....

Next week, check the letterhead system downloadable from <URL:
http://addbalance.com/word/download.htm>. (Site is down now for
maintenance.) It shows one way of doing this. Other ways include using
AutoText fields and/or IncludeText fields to incorporate letterhead elements
stored in one location.
