Statistical analysis (since VBA and macros are not possible)!!

I wanted to know if the statistical analysis (through>tools>addins) as existed in Office Vx and Office 2004 is also available in Office 2008.
If as I have heard, there are no addins option for Office 2008, can the addins from say Office Vx be put in the addins folder of Office 2008 and used?
I am planning to upgrade my existing Office Vx but without the statistical analysis option, I am still thinking about it........

Hi Coral -

You've heard correctly - the add-ins are not included in 2008 ... One of the
casualties caused by the removal of VBA support. You can still do the same
type of analysis, but you have to write your own formulas or rely on the
generosity of others. You might have a look at the posts in the

microsoft.public.mac.office.excel

newsgroup for some excellent resources & referrals.

....and No, the add-ins from previous version will *not* work with 2008.
