Hi Malcolm,
I am glad to hear you figured out the issue is caused by the data registry
key.
Word safe mode is a general troubleshooting step for Word problems and we
can troubleshoot most Word issues with this command.
If you encounter any issues in the future, feel free to start a new thread
here, we can discuss the problem together again.

Daisy Cao

| Hi Daisy,
|
| I didn't get your second posting before I left for the day yesterday but
the
| problem was resolved by deleting the Word data registry key. Because I
didn't
| get your advice I didn't check the COM add-ins but if this happens again
I
| will do so.
|
| I've kept the link to KB921541 which is a very useful article.
|
| I think we can close this one, thanks again for your help,
| Malcolm
