Below is a link to an article on customizing the Visio user interface. It
contains a note of interest:
"Note Beginning with Visio 2002, you can no longer customize the status bar
in Visio using the StatusBars collection or StatusBar objects of the
UIObject object. The StatusBars collection and StatusBar objects are no
longer supported in Visio 2002. However, you can still show or hide the
status bar using the application.ShowStatusBar property."

Visio has a second mode for customizing it's user interface: the Office
Command Bars. You might be able to hack something via this avenue. My
knowledge of command bars is embarassingly vague, however.
Anybody out there in Visland able to comment on Command Bar UI and Status
Bars?
