Status Field - Must be inaccurate ???

The Status Field must be inaccurate in some cases. I see the following: If an
activity has 2 tasks under it; One of the tasks was completed in the past,
the other is scheduled in the future. The activity will always have a Late
staus. I also see that if a task has 2 resources assigned, with one's work
completed in the past, and the other planned in the future then the task will
always have a Late Status. Does anyone have incite on this? Thanks

You need to have a Status Date set properly: Project/Project Information...
set the status date as necessary.

My test shows the summary level task will show "On Schedule" as long as any
detail task is not late. If all the detail tasks are "Future Tasks" then the
summary task shows "Future Task" for the status.

Thanks Jim, The Status Data is set correctly, so that's not the issue. I have
activities where all tasks are either On Schedule, Complete or Future, but
the higher level activity is Late. This is caused by the 2 situations I
described originally.

If you enter the actual finish date the summary will change to "On
Schedule", if the task is just 100% complete with no actual finish date it
does show as "Late", as for the two resources when I schedule your example I
get the status of "Future Task".
