Status Manager Has Left The Company

Hi everyone,

I have an issue where the person listed as the status manager in a
number of projects has left our company and our IT department has
already deleted his account.

How can I get access to the all the task updates that are submitted by
the resources working on those projects? My concern is that the task
updates are sitting there waiting to be approved, but nobody can get
at them the account they were sent to is no longer available.

The project plans have been updated to ensure future task updates go
to another status manager. Can that person get access to the
previously submitted task updates?

Or do I have to go into the database to approve the task updates?

Thanks,

Stuart

Stuart,

I believe that if you change the Status Manager in the Schedules and
republish the schedule, the task updates will go to the new Status Manager
automatically.
Hope this helps

Stuart,
You do not state whether you are using v2003 or v2007. If you are
using v2007, Marc is correct that changing the Status Manager to
yourself on each task and publishing will not only transfer pending
updates, but future updates AND past update history will be
transferred to you.

However, if you are using v2003, the updates will need to be printed
out from the Resource Center view (view the Resource assignments for
the resource, which will show all pending and published transactions),
and manually update the schedule with the updates. We had this happen
occasionally when we had v2003, and it was always such a nightmare.
v2007's functionality is so much better!

Hope this helps,
mel

Sorry, I should I have stated I'm using Project Server 2007.

Changing the Status Manager transferred the task updates that had
already been submitted and I was able to access them. Problem solved.

Thanks for the assistance.

Stuart
