status not shown properly in invitation scheduling window

I have several events for which I have changed my status to be free, but when I try to schedule an event or other people try to invite me, my availability during these events does not show as free - sometimes it shows me as busy - other times it shows me as tentative - when on my calendar it show the status as free.
How can I force my publicized status to match the status in my calendar (this is often days after I have changed the status - so it shouldn't be an issue of a delay somewhere in the system)

When your calendar or a folder is out-of-sync with your Exchange Server
then try clearing the cache and letting Entourage re-sync information
from the server. You will probably need to reset the status of each of
your messages again once the sync is complete.

If you see this in just one or a handful of folders then right-click or
Control-click that folder or calendar, select Folder Properties and
click the Empty button to empty the cache. You can also select the
account itself and empty the cache for all of your folders.

Hope this helps!

Bill,

Thanks for the suggestion, but that's not the problem. I've tried that several times. It is only anecdotal, but it appears that if I initially responded to an invitation with one status (accepted or tentative), if I change that status within my calendar after that initial response, my original response status is what shows up in the invitation window.

Interesting...

How are you changing your response? Do you open the message and use the
Status menu button? Do you use Event menu --> Status? Or do you leave
the event message closed and right-click it, choosing Status from the
contextual menu?

Does changing the status using a different method make a difference?

To change the status, I open the event and use the status menu to change the status. I've never tried another method.
