Status Report notification being received after project deleted

Jennifer

We are using Project Pro 2003 enterprise and I have an individual who
continues to receive notifications after a project was deleted from the
server years ago. None of the boxes are checked to receive notifications on
his alerts. What can we do to stop these.

Thanks,
Jennifer

This would indicate that there is an orphaned assignment for the project in
the database. Is the original project still stored in the database? If so,
you might solve this by deleting the project and re-importing it using the
import wizard. Of course save it as a file before deleting. If the project
no longer exists in the database, this must be corrected by deleting the
record directly in the database.

Gary,

The original project is not still stored in the database but I do have an
archived copy of it. Do you think importing it and then deleting would help
to solve this? It appears that there may be other problems with this project
as we can't delete resources that are no longer at our company that were on
this project.

Or, if you think we should just directly delete the orphaned assignments,
can you tell us what tables and fields we would look in to delete the
orphaned assignment?

Thanks,
Jennifer

Jennifer:

Your approach of importing and deleting might work, then again it might not
as the orphan didn't delete when you deleted the project the first time.
Your subject line references status reports, yet you specify it's for a
"project." As status reports are not "project-specific" I'm assuming that
this is an orphaned assignment record, but I can't be certain without
knowing which portion of your original post was "mis-spoken." You could post
the notification to clarify. You can also look for a document called
pjsvr.htm in the help directory on the server where Project Server is
installed. This is a data dictionary that will help you find the correct
tables in the database.

Gary,

Can you let us know what table this would be in so we can delete the
orphaned assignments?

Thanks,
Jennifer
