Is there a way to link the status report to a task in PWA?

I want the team-members to be able to report the status of the task through
status reports. Thanks.

Sorry, no. Status reports are completely independent of projects and tasks.
A clunky workaround would be to copy text from the Status Report into a Word
document and then link the document to a task.
