Status Reports: Link to speific project plan?

Can you link a status report to a specific project plan? If not, what is the
best option for providing updates to team members or project stake holders?
Using SharePoint site associated with the project plan?

Status Reports are not linked to any specific project.

What type of updates are you referring to in your second question?

I have a PM who's Supervisor and stake holders want regular status updates
regarding a project plan. He is utilizing the status update feature within
PWA and is receiving his updates from team members however he would like to
avoid duplicate work by allowing that information to be available to these
folks without having to create a separate document each time (which seems
logical). What are his options?

Are you talking about Status Reports or are you talking about updating
actual progress into the project plan? If you are talking about viewing
updates to the project, then you should give team members access to at least
one Project Center and detailed Project view so that they can see the
current state of the project. Here's what your Project Server administrator
would need to do:

1. Log into PWA with administrator permissions
2. Click the Admin menu
3. Click the Manage security link
4. Select the My Tasks category from the data grid and click the Modify
Category button
5. Copy at least one Project Center view to the list on the right
6. Copy at least one Project view to the list on the right
7. Click the Save Changes button

Hope this helps.
