Status reports

Is there a way to take a merged status report and pull out only the fields
you want to report on for a higher level report? For instance: I have 10
fields in which team members report on every week. Once I merge the reports,
I only want to report on 4 of those 10 fields. Is there a way to do that?
Also, where is the data for status reports stored? Is it in the project
server database or wssconfig database? I've looked and I can't find it. I
guess I could ask the same questions for the risks and issues documents as
well. Thanks in advance for any helpful advice.

To take the merged Status Report, remove fields, and then report to a higher
level, complete the following steps:

1. Navigate to the Status Reports page in PWA
2. In the Group Status Reports section, click the Status Report on which
you wish to report
3. Click the icon for the Team Status Report
4. Click the Zoom button on the toolbar above the team status report
5. In the zoomed window, click File - Save As
6. Enter a File Name for the report
7. Select a destination folder and then click the Save button
8. Close the zoomed window
9. Launch Microsoft Word, navigate to the destination folder, and open the
Team Status Report (saved as HTML)
10. Edit the document and remove the sections you do not want
11. Click File - Save As
12. Save the Word file as a Word document (.doc)
13. Send the Word document to the people at the higher level

I have looked in the Project Server database and 90% of the Status Report
information you want is found in 5 tables, which are:

MSP_WEB_STATUS_REPORTS
MSP_WEB_STATUS_REQUESTS
MSP_WEB_STATUS_FREQUENCIES
MSP_WEB_STATUS_DESCRIPTION
MSP_WEB_STATUS_RESPONSES

In the Status Responses table listed above, it does not seem to display the
text of the Status Report response. Instead, it lists <Long Text> in the
WRESP_TEXT field for each response. I suspect the actual text is stored in
a BLOB file, but I am only speculating and could certainly be wrong. If
anyone knows for sure, please correct me if I have made a mistake.

Hope this helps.

Dale,

Thanks again for all of your help. On that note do you know if it's
possible to create standard status report templates as an admin so that all
users can use it? The customer does not want the PMs to have to create the
initial structure for the status report. Basically, they want the admin to
create about 5 different types of status reports from which PMs will be able
to choose from to send out to resources to fill out. Hope that makes sense
:). Again thanks for all of your help. By they way, how long does it
usually take for your books to arrive once they are ordered?

See my answer to your latest question in this newsgroup.

About the delivery of our books, are you ordering from our company Web site
or from Amazon?
