stdret.msi not found on instalation CD

Peter

This morning, I suddenly cannot start any of Office XP programs. I followed
what office asked me to do, restarted office in a safe mode, which failed,
then sticking in office installation CD. Repair stopped when it could not
find stdret.msi file. I tried manually to look for it, but it is not there.
Should i uninstall and reinstall the whole office and all the updates now?
Is there other way?
Thanks,
Peter

Mary,
I does not help. First of all I realized that the CD was not office but
office training. That solved 'not found' problem.
Anyway after trying to repair even from control panel, and 'repair
successful' messages I still have the same problem. None of the office
programs will start.
How will I make sure that after un-install and re-install i will have the
same settings and email folders in outlook?
Thanks
Peter
