Steps to distribute (List)

Does anyone have a list of steps to distribute a finished mdb... this is if
you don't have a server to put the BE on and need to replicate.
ie
backup
open new database and import all items
Compact and repair and debug
Change all settings that you want changed like Startup etc
split into FE/BE
Make the mdb an mde (should this go before the split?)
Replicate the BE (this should be the only part replicated right?)
Will the FE still use it normally.

I have read numerous articles about each of the steps but I don't know which
ones should go first.
