sticky Ctrl, shift keys

Hi,

I am using a US version of Office XP on Windows 2000, with
a french keyboard (laptop).
If I hold the Ctrl a little bit too long, the cursor goes
where the mouse is. And if I press the shift key too long,
the text around the cursor starts to be automatically selected!

I checked the accessibility options of Windows - everything
is turned off. And this does not happen outside MS Office
XP applications. This was not happening with Office 2000.

Any ideas?
