Sticky Pointer

I bought an MPB with 2 GB of RAM with Excel 2008. My problem is miniscule compared to the problems discussed above but is still bugs me. When I use key strokes such as copy or paste, the pointer freezes for about 4 seconds after the actions. Although this may not seem such a problem, it causes a great disruption in the flow of work and the thought process. Is this an Excel glitch or a Leopard glitch?

Copy and Paste are instantaneous for me with a MBP/XL08 unless I'm
dealing with a rather large number of cells (e.g., tens of thousands or
more). Copying and pasting formulae will take longer than pasting
constants.

If it happens on small numbers of cells, it's likely an OS issue. MacXL
uses the system clipboard for Copy/Paste. Do you have any haxies
(applications that modify the OS) running? Does it happen with all other
apps closed? Does the behavior change if you log out/log back in?
