Still have PP org chart problem

T

Tim

I posted a week or so ago regarding the fact that office2000 professional
complains the the org chart component is not installed.

Someone replied and pointed me towards

http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00023.htm

I treid the detail given here but still no help. I have currently installed
every option from the setup but still does not work

I went to the office web site and downloaded sr3 (I assume sr3 includes
sr1&2??) but this refused to install complaining I was trying to install it
onto the wrong product, the sr3 desciption said it was compatible with my
product.

I tried the "check for office updates" but this failed while checking
installation with an error indicating an activeX error.

This PC and office installation works perfectly in every other respect its
is really starting to bug me.

Any suggestions

Tim

P.S. this a fresh installation of the OS (win98se) and of office about 2
month ago

Hi Tim,

No, Office 2000 SP3 does not include Service Release (SR1).
You need to install Office 2000 SR1a first
http://office.microsoft.com/productupdates
Service Packs are cumulative, starting from the latest
Service Release level. It sounds like you may have a
problem with Windows, your browser settings or trying
to use a download accelerator. The updates can
be manually downloaded and installed from
http://office.microsoft.com/downloads

The MS Org chart Powerpoint applet + installs in
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Orgchart
and can run as a standalone.
