still having a problem with word 97

Hi Terry,

I did all the things you suggested but with no luck.
When I installed sr1 and reboot my computer then tried to install sr2a I got
the message that office was at the base level and that I should run sr1.
What could be causing this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

I'm stuck on this then. There must be something left behind that is telling
setup the wrong information. If you have installed SR1, when you open Word
and do Help, About Microsoft Word, does the version state that it is SR1?

Yes, sr1 is showing in the about box.

The only KB articles I can find that seem remotely relevant are "OFF97: SR-2
Patch Fails Even Though SR-1 Was Installed" at

Hi Suzanne,

thank you for finding the articles on my problem. I did what the article
said. But, for some reason I can't get microsoft outlook to the sr1 level.
All the other files are at sr1. I am puzzled. any other help would be
appreciated. thanks again for your help.

I'm afraid you've exhausted my resources, but I'll bet someone in one of the
Outlook NGs will be able to answer this.
