Still having problems with OTF Fonts under 10.4.x and Office 2004

Hi Fellow Mac:Office Users!

I was hoping the recent 10.4.3 update would cure my problems, but the
OTF problems are persisting. And from the posts I see, I'm not the only
one:

The point is that, since the update to Service Pack 2 and 2.1 I lost
the style linking of my Adobe Pro Font "Futura Standard Medium". In
order to have the bold version of Futura Standard Medium, I must
manually click on the font "Futura Heavy" in the Font list. This means
that presentations becomes incompatible with Windows version of
Powerpoint, which require style linking. But of course I'm the Mac
user in my company.... So, compatibility is a must.

Since Mac OS X is so bad at handling fonts (permissions, locations,
etc.), I thought it might be an OS issue to be corrected in 10.4.3.
But, no such luck.

Anybody have any ideas?
