Hello again .. I have been trying to eliminate the message:
"This record has been changed by another user since you started editing it.
If you save the record you will overwrite the changes the other user has
made ..." options displayed are:
Save Record, Copy to clipboard, drop changes.
Note: users are editing different records ..
I have followed Arvin's advice "Change the permissions on the database
folder on the server to allow
everything but Full Control. You admin can do that for you. Make sure that
you are using Optimistic Locking:" and still have the problem when more than
one person is in the Database.
I split a test version of the database with the back end on the server, and
the front end on the local hard drive of two different pc's. Our network
administrator assured me that the permissions on the backend database folder
were set to all except full control. I clicked on the folder and it showed
full control checked, should it show full control unchecked. Please excuse
my ignorance .. the administrator says to ignore that. Also the database
folder on the server is contained within another folder, should that folder
have the permissions changed as well?
The default record mode shows shared, and default locking mode is nolocks on
both systems. Should "Open data base using record locking" be checked (in
advanced options)
As usual, any further help on this would be most appreciate.
