Still trying to copy formatted cells

I am trying to copy a range of formatted cells with text
in them from one sheet to another. When I copy, it paste
the text but not the cell format. It seems everyone has
that problem. Does anyone know how to get them format to
copy also??? Paste special doesn't work. I've tried format
painter but haven't got that to work.

Paste Special>All should work.

But it doesn't work. It copies the text, but not the
format. Unless I'm doing something wrong.

Pat,

It could be the result of conditional formatting, which may not appear if
for example it refers to a formula or condition that is not true in the
worksheet to which you are copying the text. Use Format|Conditional
Formatting and see if there are any formats set.

From Excel 2002 onwards you can do that although
you have to do it in 2 takes, first paste special all, and then paste
special
column widths.

Pat,

Are you trying to copy the cell height and width. If so, to do that you
have to copy the entire column/row.
