Still unable to sort

V

I am still unable to sort my Excel file of 8855 rows because I get a
message saying I have merged cells. I followed the advice of previous
group members and went to the format menu to see if I had inadvertently
checked the 'merge cell box'. I hadn't. This is very frustrating. I can
sort large section of the file but not the entire file. Any suggestions
are appreciated. Using Office 2004 with a G4, OS 10.2.8.
Thanks,

Hi,

Sorry, but I guess I didn't follow the previous thread.

Try this:

Click the diamond that is at the intersection of the row numbers and
column letters. That should select all of the cells in the worksheet.
With all the cells selected then use Format > Cells > Alignment and
check and then clear the Merge Cells box. Then click the OK button.

That should remove all merged cells everywhere on the worksheet.
