I am planning to put together eight still photos (a mixture of portrait and
landscape) into an animated sequence in Powerpoint 97.
I can envisage four different ways of achieving this - all of which I have
used in some form or other in the past. But which is the "best" - what
would you choose?
Import the stills into Amination Shop 3 (comes with Paint Shop Pro 7) and
add the required transitions.
Save the file as a genuine video avi (Option 1) and link to it in
Powerpoint.
Save the file as an animated gif (Option 2) and embed/link to it in
Powerpoint
Use a seperate Powerpoint slide for each still (Option 3) and use slide
transitions.
Use a single Powerpoint slide with the images stacked on top of each other
(Option 4) and use custom animation for transitions.
- of course a mix of 3 and 4 is possible too.
To me, Options 1 and 2 give the best transitions but once created are a bit
of a pain to adjust timings and change transitions - i.e. back to square one
each time. Option 1 also suffers from the usual problems of linking to
videos! Not sure how Option 2 behaves. ...and both will create big files
Options 3 and 4 seem appealing but the tranistions offered by PPT97 are
limited Option 4 will also be a bit of a pain to edit.
What would you go for?
TIA
