Stop an email from being sent

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: imap

I am using IMAP account and continuously receive an error "5.2.3 our size guidelines" (followed by a 17 character alpha numberic readout). "Mail could not be sent".
I assume that I had tried to send an attachment that is too large and it continues to get rejected. How do I stop this particular email from being sent?

One of the alpha number readouts was "21sm2780340yex.13:

It should still be in the Outbox. Open it and remove.

Thank you, this is where it resided.
I didn't originally find it because it was in the Outbox located in the folders "On My Computer", rather than on the server section.

Do you know why that was the case?

There is only one outbox for all outgoing messages. It is "On My Computer",
not on any of the servers, since it can't get to a server until it is sent
from "My Computer".
