Stop bugging me with the request to restart computer

K

Kek

I hate the request to restart computer after automatic updates are ready. You
seem to feel that restarting immediately is so urgent that users must
continuously be disturbed and interrupted. For me starting the necessary
softwares and logging into systems and opening the documents requires some
effort. When the computer has been started, I don't want to re-do all of it
just to get one of your updates installed.

Today it happened that the request to restart jumped on top on the very
millisecond I was pushing enter. I had been following a long path and signing
in to different systems when this heckler aborted all of it and restarted the
computer.

PLEASE! Stop making decisions for me. Add one feature into the request to
restart: A box to tick, with the text "Ask this question next time after 10
hours".

Hi Kek,

The MS Office discussion groups are generally peer support.
The restart is required, in many cases, to complete the update. Not doing so can leave the computer in a fairly mixed state.
