Stop Error messages

Connor

Hi all, I posted this in the general forum and was adviced to repost in here

I have a rather large mail merge document with multiple if
statements that go onto do an inlcudetext that pulls in other documents.
When the data file is attached i get an error message "fields nested too
deeply" but when the message is cleared the document is fine. Is there a way
to suppress all/selective messages in word via a bit of vb so that the user
doesnt see the error message.

Thanks

You can suppress some messages by setting Application.DisplayAlerts =
wdAlertsNone

Remember to set it back to wdAlertsAll at the end of the macro.

Whether this will stop your particular alert is a bit of a lottery. Try it &
see. If not, then i think you may have to find a way of coding round the
problem, by not provoking the alert in the first place
