stop outlook 2003 running

I'm trying to download a new secruity program and it won't install because it
states "outlook is still running". I've closed outlook rebooted shows same
messgae.
How can I stop it running

Check with Task Manager (Processes tab) if Outlook is still running.

A kind of heavy handed approach would be to kill the process using task
manager.

right click the taskbar and select "Start Task manager"
select the "Processes" tab
look for outlook.exe (you may need to check the box at the bottom to show
processes from all users)
highlight it and hit the Delete key (or select end process)

It should now go away.

Be careful doing this. If you have unsaved changes or the like, they will
probably be lost.


Alternately, restart Windows and Outlook should not be running.
