Stop punctuation from underlining

N

Nanapat

Is there a way to tell Word to underline a word (but not the punctuation
immediately following the word) in a style, such as a period, question mark,
etc.? For instance:

Heading 1 is:

1. Employment.

I only want Employment underlined and not the "period". In Heading 1
style, I set the font to underline Words Only, but it is underlining the
period also. I do not want to manually format this; it has to be set up in
the Heading 1 style.

Thanks for any help.

I'm not seeing a way that you can set this up so it doesn't underline the
period. If no one has a better suggestion, I'd let it go while you're
creating the document but prior to finishing it I'd use Find/Replace and
replace all periods (.) that are formatted with an underline to a period (.)
formatted with no underline.
