Stop text from stringing into next field when empty

When I have a "sentence" of text in a field and the field next to it i
empty, the sentence text strings into it and you don't see a empt
field. I know that I can change the width of the field that th
sentence is in, but that won't work in this case because I need i
small, so is there a way to stop the text from wandering into the nex
field? This is not a Merge issue, by the way, Merge is not checked.
can go into the empty field and hit the space button to make the fiel
before it (with the sentence) think that its not empty, but that onl
works while you have it open, even if you save, the string comes bac
the next time you access the file.
