I think this the correct feature to discuss here: A user here is trying to
type a list of numbers, and Word 2003 is assuming he wants a numbered list.
He does NOT. He begins with a blank doc (via File, New), and checks to be
sure Bullets and Numbering is set to "none" (Format, B&N). Then, he begins
typing his list of items which look like this:
00501
00502
When he hits Enter after the second item, Word increments the item and
produces 00503. He's been severely interrogated to be sure he's NOT going
into the format menu and turning on B&N, so we can safely assume there's
something else going on here. Is there any other Word option, or user action
which was invoke B&N?
Incidental to all this, Word is also removing the leading zeros from these
numbers. I suspect that when we fix the first problem, the second will
vanish with it. Maybe.
