Stopping Outlook 2007 putting garbage on the Office Clipboard

A

actualeyes

Outlook 2007 puts garbage on the Office Clipboard every time I open an email
message... 5 or six different items.

I have no idea why, and can't remember when it started doing it - maybe when
I started using Office Clipboard.

I am using Vista-64

Cheers,
Andrew.

what 'garbage'? It's usually done by a poorly written add-in that is
creating a toolbar on the message form.

Hi Diane,

Thanks so much for answering. Wow, you're fast.

It looks liek three lilttle icons on the clip board and whe I past them that
is what I get, but I suspect that there is stuff behind each of them.

There are two sets of three icons - each set the same.

The first two icons of each set have arros from the bottom left corner to
the middle and a document-style bent over top right corner.

The third of each set is a square box with "Ct" in it like an Adobe
application is CS3.

There are no add-ins or toolbars that I am aware of at all, and this happens
when I open up existing messages (eg. Inbox messages). I H8 addins...

Cheers,
Andrew.

Do you have CS3 installed? Do you have a tab with those icons on it? What
outlook addins are installed? (check in tools, trust center, addins)

I don't think there is anything "behind them" on the clipboard - its just
the pictures.

hmmm... I guess you've hit the proverbial nail...

FIrst one... Adobe Contribute Plugin - sounds ominous.

Other non-Microsoft... PDFMOutlook and iTunes Outlook Addin... now how do I
remove them?

Cheers,
Andrew.

Found the place to do it, but when I try to unclick the buggers I get the

The connected state of Office Add-ins registered in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
cannot be changed.

What the?

Look for it under Exchange extensions or change the registry key, such as
described at http://www.slipstick.com/problems/acrobat.htm

Thanks Diane,

You're most helpful.

I have never used Adobe Contribute... and am very happy to be rid of it ;-)

Cheers,
Andrew.
